You feel like you’ve been alone in this for too long
Therapy is a place where you feel supported, respected, and understood, and can explore what’s happening and find your way back to your true version of self — with a therapist who understands your story.
“One of the strongest parts of being a woman is our innate ability to reach out for support and seek social connection and help from other women.”
Elena Shcherbakova
MACP, CCC, RCC

YOU’RE NOT ALONE IN THIS
Does any of this sound familiar?
Many women who reach out describe the same tension — high-functioning on the outside and exhausted on the inside. They’re managing everything, but something feels off in the background. Or they gave up on some of the most important parts of their life, including relationships, friendships and even themselves (hey, when was the last time you felt good about looking in the mirror?):
- You feel anxious or overwhelmed, but can’t always explain why
- You keep repeating the same patterns in relationships and don’t know how to stop
- Motherhood has been harder than anyone prepared you for
- You’re going through a separation, divorce, or major life transition
- Burnout has crept in — you’re exhausted but can’t slow down
- Something from your past is still shaping how you feel today
- You want more from your life, but don’t know where to start.
“You don’t need a diagnosis or a crisis to begin therapy – simply wanting to feel good again and knowing that something is off is enough reason to reach out for support.”

WHAT WE WORK WITH
Common reasons women come to therapy
You don’t need to have it figured out. Bring whatever is on your mind — we’ll figure it out together.

YOUR THERAPIST
A therapist who has navigated her own difficult chapters
I’m Elena — founder of Upsychology, registered clinical counsellor, and someone who has lived through the kind of ground-shifting changes that bring many women to therapy. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in corporate finance, immigrated to Canada, and rebuilt my life largely from scratch while navigating single motherhood and managing a demanding career.
While I can relate to many of your experiences, I don’t assume your life looks like anyone else’s. I work with what you actually bring — your emotional and bodily signals, patterns in how you relate to others, and the roles that keep repeating — and I kindly support you in reaching your therapy goals. My approach is direct, warm, and grounded in what’s genuinely helpful for you.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you reach out
Do I need a referral to book?
No referral needed. You can book directly through our secure online booking system at any time.
Is this covered by my insurance?
Many extended health plans cover sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) or Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). Check your plan’s mental health benefits — Elena holds both credentials. Direct billing is available with select insurers.
What if I’ve never tried therapy before?
That’s completely fine — and actually quite common. The free 15-minute call is designed exactly for that situation. It’s a low-pressure conversation where you can ask anything and decide if it feels right.
How long will I need to be in therapy?
It depends entirely on what you’re bringing and what you want from the work. Some people feel a meaningful shift in 4–6 sessions. Others choose to continue longer. There’s no minimum commitment — you’re in charge of that.
Where do sessions happen?
All sessions are virtual, via a secure video portal. Upsychology operates fully online to reduce barriers and give you access from wherever you are in Canada.
What if we’re not a good fit?
Elena will tell you honestly if she’s not the right therapist for what you need — and she’ll help you find someone who is. You won’t be left to figure that out on your own.
READY WHEN YOU ARE
You deserve a space that’s fully yours
The free 15-minute call is low-stakes and designed to give you clarity — not to pressure you into anything. If we’re not the right fit, Elena will help you find someone who is.
